@Made in TAMBA
@@@`in the Province of Pottery`

The Tamba area in the middle of HyogoPrefecture is considered one of the six oldest and most well-known production centers in Japan and is the home of the robust-looking Tamba ware, which typically bears an earthy brown glaze.

The Tachikui district in the Tamba area still features around 60 kilns within walking distance of the museum, meaning that the look of the pottery area has changed little since olden times.

This exhibition presents around 100 Tamba wares and old tools to look back at how the ceramic style was born and its tradition kept alive.
